Notice in the Taunton Courier (17/9/1812)lists the death of a William Hewlett widow from Sherborne. I found this as I'm trying to find the origins of a George Hewlett (c1745-1816) who was the Coach Maker in Taunton and is one of my ancestors.

Thanks, Simon. There are so many Hewlett names in the Dorset and Devon areas that it is difficult to find their connections. I have not been able to make the connection between the William Hewlett whose wife died in 1812, as we learn from your news article, and the William Hewlett of Sherborne on our family tree. I will be glad to pass on information about your George Hewlett's ancestry.

Thanks for your comment, Samantha. Although there are a couple of Thomas Hewletts in our family tree, they were born in Sherborne, Dorset, in 1837 and 1841. --Sorry that this will not be of help to you.
